The Cockpit Door Monitoring System provides for increased fl ight safety and security by identifying persons requesting entry to the cockpit during the fl ight. It allows the fl ight deck crew to monitor every movement in the immediate vicinity of their cockpit during fl ight, independent of light conditions. By being able to identify any person outside the cockpit without leaving their seats or turning around, the pilots are able to fulfi ll the safety directive EU-OPS1 Subpart S and norms OPS 1.1255, C (2).
